Do you know that ranthambore was the hunting ground of Maharaja of Jaipur till India was independent.

The Ranthambore Fort is described by most of the tourists as a major attraction to visit while in the Ranthambore park, This fort has its own glorious history and is considered as an essence of Chauhan  dynasty.

The travel accommodations available  to reach here are cars, buses and trains. Most of the tourists who visit Ranthambore come from Jaipur or Delhi from Jaipur Ranthambore is 180kms away and you can reach by a car in about 3 to 4 hours but if you are coming from Delhi then it will take almost 8hrs of driving as distance between  Delhi  and Ranthambore is 400kms so I would recommend  a train journey  from Delhi the train will drop you at Sawai Madhopur railway station from which the Ranthambore National Park is 10 km away.

If we talk about the history of this fort then it has a rich history as it was one of the most strategically important hillfort of Rajasthan. Another tale states that the fort was built by Jayant, in 1110 CE. The  Government of Rajasthan states that, the construction started in the mid-10th century in the ruling  period of Sapaldaksha, and continued a few centuries, till the 13th century, as the Delhi Sultanate conquered it.
